THE BEST COURSES FOR INVESTING IN THE STOCK MARKET BY SWING TRADING

Time is never a precious commodity, and many of us juggle work and family. If this sounds familiar, swing trading might be just what you need to start investing in the stock market.

What is swing trading?

Swing trading is a trading style in which trades are carried out over a period of days, weeks, or even months.

It is one of the preferred options for those traders who combine trading with another activity (do you want to know more about trading styles?).

Keep in mind, however, that swing trading and day tradingare not mutually exclusive styles, and traders often choose both.

Swing trading typically involves trading currency pairs (Forex), stocks, ETFs, or cryptocurrencies, with Forex being one of the most popular assets among swing traders due to the possibility it offers of trading with relatively little capital.

I, however, prefer actions.

Mark Minervini, the author of 'Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard', is arguably one of the best known and most successful swing traders.

With an incredible track record of 220% average profit over five consecutive years, he's a clear example of the potential of swing trading. His secret? Discipline and risk management.

What are the best academies for swing trading?

Here you'll find three of my swing trading courses, which I therefore recommend the most. You can trade with a world-renowned trading champion like Ferran Font, delve deeper into the Wyckoff methodology, or work on market structure exclusively through price action.

All of these options are valid and certainly among the best you'll find on the market. However, just because all of these options are valid doesn't mean they're all right for you.

The best trading course for you will always be the one that best suits your personality and lifestyle; never forget this.

Here are the 3 best stock market courses for swing trading:

ORDER BOOK TRADING by Ferran Font

Ferran Font Order Book Trading

Order Book Trading (www.orderbooktrading.com) is a stock market course that stands out for its flexibility and wealth of information (it was a game-changer for me in trading). In this course, the 2014 trading champion, Ferran Font, covers almost every aspect of being a professional trader.

The course covers Order Flow, market structure, Market Profile, and Price Action. It also includes references to algorithmic trading and fundamental analysis.

There are live trading sessions, a community of traders who regularly exchange ideas and trades via Telegram, and you can even see guest traders showcasing their strategies (a privilege you'll find in few stock market courses).

You can delve deeper into the ideas covered in this stock market course by signing up for one of the free MasterClasses that Ferran usually offers.

Uxío Fraga's Professional School for Traders

Novatos Trading Club
novice trading club

The Professional School of Traders of Uxío Fraga (also known as Novatos Trading Club: www.novatostradingclub.com) brings us a very good stock market course to trade stocks on the spot market using swing trading and technical analysis.

In this stock market course you will not learn a magic system for trading on the stock market, Uxío focuses on traditional technical analysis where support and resistance structure the context in which you will have to buy or sell your shares.

But just because it's a classic method doesn't mean it's any less effective; the key lies in risk management. Uxío's secret is in risk control and position management, rather than in his market entry system.

The best thing about the school is the personalized support offered by its trainers and the private community of traders that you will have access to in the final stages.

The course is designed for those who wish to capitalize a significant amount of money, in fact usually more than €50,000.

If your account balance is €2,000 or €3,000, this course will be of little use to you. But if you have any doubts about this, the best thing to do is contact the school directly.

In a way, 50% of the course value is the personalized classes; 30%, the community of traders; and the remaining 20%, the proposed trading system.

Investing in the stock market

The chart below shows what you could have earned by investing just one dollar in the S&P 500 in 1927. Almost $10,000, or a return on investment of 927,650.50%. Not bad, right?

Of course, adjusting the result for inflation, that dollar would have yielded only $608.45 (60,844.74%). It's still a very interesting sum.

We can deduce two things from what we see in the chart above. The first is that we will need to learn how to invest if we intend to protect our savings from inflation. And the second is that, in the market, extending our time frame puts the odds of success in our favor.

The stock market has survived economic crises, wars, terrorist attacks, pandemics, etc. and will continue to do so, just as inflation will continue to erode the value of your money.

The purchasing power of that dollar from 1927 would be only $0.07 today due to inflation. In other words, a dollar will always be worth a dollar, but what you can buy with that same dollar will be much less.

It's also true that not every year has been positive for the stock market, and you probably don't intend to wait 100 years to make your investments profitable.

But don't despair, I have the answer to this dilemma: Swing Trading.

Why swing trading?

Swing trading adapts very well to the personality and time of many traders, while at the same time it moves us away from market volatility and, therefore, from emotional trading.

Among other reasons, this is one of the main reasons why swing trading is so popular among many traders.

Regardless of the type of trading you choose to do, avoiding emotional trading will be crucial for your success as a trader.

Remember that emotions are the main enemy of the discretionary trader, and usually the reason why many traders fail to achieve the desired consistency.

By swing trading, your emotions will, for the most part, be under control.

Fear, anxiety, and greed; these emotions, so characteristic of day trading and particularly scalping, rarely express themselves with the same force in swing trading as they do in intraday trading.

I 'm not saying that you can't control your emotions when day trading (seeing the number of trades that pass the Topstep test every day , I wouldn't dare say that), but that it's more difficult in day trading

Day trading requires time and optimal control of the emotions associated with stock market operations.

Whereas, in swing trading, time is not usually an issue, and taming the emotions that arise when trading is usually much easier.

In this presentation given at the XTB Trading Day 2018, investor David Galán explains very well what I want to convey to you.

It is also true that traders who do swing trading often combine their trading with day trading or even long-term trading.

It's common for those who opt for swing trading to allocate a relatively small percentage of their money to day trading. Some might call it 'toy money'.

Funded accounts and Micro Futures are my preferred options for day trading .

In my opinion, swing trading in the short to medium term yields the best results through a combination of technical analysis and some fundamental analysis (especially if you trade stocks). But this isn't the only option this trading style offers.

Exploring alternatives such as Forex hedging, or algorithmic trading, can yield interesting benefits or opportunities.

Today, there are many tools that allow you to access a semi-automated trading strategy, and you don't need to know programming to use them. This is very common in Forex.

Examples of what I'm saying are fxDreema and Qbitia, where with a simple 'drag and drop' you can create a small but effective trading robot.

And I don't need to tell you how much potential there is in a semi-automatic trading strategy that includes good risk management (if you're a programmer, you might be interested in looking at Amibroker).

Scammers and snake oil salesmen in trading

But, if you are reading these lines, it is surely because you are looking for a stock market course to get started in swing trading, and with so many courses on offer (see the best trading academies), you don't really know where to start.

You're also worried about scammers and con artists. The truth is, there are scammers and con artists out there, and there are many of them (some are laughable). Fortunately, there are also many very serious people involved in trading.

All the schools I've recommended here are serious options. Each one has a different approach and its own advantages and disadvantages, but they all share a commitment to quality.

On the other hand, you should know that there are never any guarantees. There's no guarantee of success when choosing a partner, when choosing a profession, when starting a business, and there are no guarantees with a trading course.

The secret is to choose a stock market course (or trading system) that suits your personality and lifestyle.

This seems easy, but it isn't. It's very common that, when trading, we discover aspects of our personality that we were previously unaware of.

Finding our place in this world is the biggest challenge that trading presents (if you want to delve deeper into this topic you can do so by reading my article: Which trading course to take?).
